When should I start Pilates?
It is ideal to start Pilates before you are pregnant and then continue throughout your pregnancy with a modified routine. However, you may also begin taking prenatal Pilates in your first trimester. We do not teach beginners who are already in their second or third trimester.
How long can I do Pilates?
It is safe to do Pilates as far into your pregnancy as you and your physician feel it is appropriate and safe.
When can I start up again after giving birth?
It is usually safe to start back up with a beginner level program four to six weeks after giving birth. We also recommend that you check with your physician before you begin working out again.
What should I wear?
Comfortable workout clothing.
Should I eat before I come?
It is a good idea to have a snack 30
minutes prior to coming to class and to drink water as needed throughout the class.
Please contact us for private session availability and class schedules. Group classes run for six weeks.
You may also call the studio to schedule a free 30-minute consultation with Lydia to discuss your health history and workout routine. During this session, Lydia will also introduce you to some of the STOTT PILATES® basic principles.
