…I have been doing Pilates for 7½ years. I started after my first back surgery and couldn't’t wait to get back after the second. Pilates has exercises and routines that are very specific, safe, and gentle. And very comprehensive. It’s easy to find or develop a routine that focuses on arms, legs, abs, trimming this spot or that. And yes, it really is all about the “core.” I’ve been through most of the levels and there is something for everyone, every age, every objective. I still believe there is no better program for flexibility, balance (important when you get older) and overall strength. Everyone I’ve worked with is knowledgeable, focused, supportive and great to work with. Actually it’s simple; every time I do my Pilates I always leave feeling better than when I came in.

I have two degenerative discs in my back and was told an invasive procedure would be the best solution. Before surgical intervention, I decided to try a few sessions at The Pilates Studio with the hopes that increased strength and flexibility would relieve the stress on my back. After a year of working with the trainers at The Pilates Studio, I am pain free and in the best shape of my life! The trainers were more than willing to design a challenging program for me and routinely add new exercises to avoid complacency. I only wish I knew about the benefits of Pilates when I was playing basketball and baseball. My flexibility has dramatically increased and my core has great definition.
