Meet Our Staff

Jessica Guercio

Jessica GuericoJessica is the Director of Education and Training as well as an instructor at the Pilates Studio of Central Ohio.

Jessica was introduced to Pilates in 1998 by her father, Bruce Guercio, who was training to become an instructor. Bruce opened his first studio in Old Dublin in 1999 and soon after Jessica began teaching.

After four years of practicing and teaching Pilates, Jessica became a fully certified STOTT PILATES® instructor in Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, and Barrels. She has also completed the Injury and Special Populations course. In 2004, Jessica completed her training to become a STOTT PILATES® Instructor Trainer, and the Pilates Studio of Central Ohio is the only STOTT PILATES® Licensed Training Center in Ohio.

In addition to her responsibilities as Director of Education and Training, Jessica continues to work with private clients and teach Mat and Reformer classes. She enjoys educating people about Pilates and loves hearing from her clients the many ways Pilates has benefited them.

Shirlee Ashworth

Shirlee AshworthShirlee is a part-time instructor at the Pilates Studio of Central Ohio and has been practicing Pilates since 2002. She has taught modern dance, creative movement and other various types of fitness over the years.

She discovered Pilates several years ago while dancing in Israel. Shirlee has found Pilates to be a wonderful means of strengthening muscles and increasing flexibility without producing stress on the joints, and she appreciates the fact that a person can experience the many positive benefits of Pilates regardless of his or her fitness level. Prior to working full-time as a Pilates instructor, Shirlee was employed for 20 years as a Licensed Social Worker.

She is certified as a STOTT PILATES® instructor in Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, and Barrels Level 1. She also has trained at the advanced Mat and Reformer levels as well as completed the Injury and Special Populations course.

Beverly Schneider

Beverly SchneiderBeverly is a part-time instructor at The Pilates Studio and has been practicing Pilates since 1998. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University in Fashion Design working for companies such as Madison’s, Express, and Longaberger. Beverly decided to try Pilates because she wanted to increase muscular strength, flexibility, and endurance. She is a fully certified STOTT PILATES® instructor, which includes the completion of Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrels, and Injury and Special Populations course.

Marla Musyt

Marla MusytMarla is a part-time instructor at the Pilates Studio of Central Ohio and has practiced Pilates since 2001. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Franklin University and an Associates degree in Sports and Fitness Management from Columbus State.

Marla has been involved in fitness instruction since 1980 and discovered Pilates when she was in search of a new form of exercise to add to her personal-training repertoire. In 1995, she became an entrepreneur who offers personal training, yoga, general fitness instruction and Polarity Therapy (energetic bodywork) to her clients.

Marla is fully certified as a STOTT PILATES® instructor in Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair and Barrels. She has completed STOTT’s Injury and Special Populations course and is certified with The Pink Ribbon Program.

Lydia Ohlinger

Lydia SlemonsLydia is a part-time instructor at the Pilates Studio of  Central Ohio and has been practicing Pilates since 2003. 

She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design from The Ohio State University.  She is keeping current with design by doing freelance work.  Lydia started doing Pilates as a way to ease chronic muscle and tissue pain in her back and stomach.  Since starting Pilates, she has been able to manage her pain and become pain free.

Lydia is a fully certified STOTT PILATES® instructor in Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair and Barrels, and Injury and Special Populations course.  She is also certified with The Pink Ribbon Program.

Katie Teuchtler

Katie TeuchtlerKatie is the manager as well as an instructor at the Pilates Studio of Central Ohio. 

She is a former professional dancer who started practicing Pilates as a means of cross training and injury rehabilitation.  Katie has danced professionally in regional ballet, opera, summer stock, and contemporary dance productions and has a Master of Fine Arts degree in Dance from The Ohio State University.

Katie is a fully certified STOTT PILATES® instructor in mat, reformer, cadillac, chair, barrels, and injury and special populations course.  Katie is also certified through the Pink Ribbon Program, a rehabilitative exercise regimen for breast cancer survivors.  She enjoys working with people of all ages and levels.

Janine Gould

Janine SalernoJanine is a part-time instructor at the Pilates Studio of Central Ohio as well as the evening receptionist.

Janine began practicing Pilates in 2004 to help relieve pain from an old back injury.

Janine joined the studio in March 2008 as an intern during her senior year at Otterbein College. She graduated from Otterbein with a degree in Health Promotion and Fitness.

After graduation, Janine began her STOTT PILATES® training and is now certified as a STOTT PILATES® instructor in Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, and Barrels, Level 1.

Stacee Maurer

StaceeStacee is a part- time instructor at the Pilates Studio of Central Ohio.  She graduated from Ohio University in 2007 with a BS in Exercise Science and immediately started her pilates training.  She became a fully certified STOTT PILATES® instructor in December of 2008 and an Instructor Trainer in February of 2009.  Since then she has been assisting Jessica in the Education department.  Stacee has worked with clients with neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s and MS.  Athough her clientele has been primarily older adults, Stacee also does personal training and has worked with recreational athletes and individuals looking to lose weight.

Sara Mitchell

Sara MitchellSara joined the Pilates Studio of Central Ohio as an intern in 2009.  She is currently working towards her STOTT PILATES® Intensive Mat Plus and Reformer certifications.

Sara earned a BA in dance from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and MFA in choreography from The Ohio State University. 

Pilates supports her dance training to strengthen and balance the body in a safe, healthy way.  Sara is interested in utilizing STOTT PILATES® for rehabilitation and injury prevention, strength, and developing body awareness.  Like dance, Pilates is a great way to develop an intelligent, thinking body.
