Your trainer has been instructed in the STOTT PILATES method of Pilates exercise. Shoulder and pelvic stabilization are emphasized during your workout routine.
We Analyze
and Develop a Program for Your Needs
We analyze your movement
patterns for any functional or structural problems in order to
develop a program for your particular needs.
The principal intention is learning how to move from a stable, central core. You will begin to move with the primary control centers of your torso-the lower and deeper abdominal muscles, as well as the middle muscles of the back.
Exercising the core muscles develops a "girdle of strength" that supports the entire spine and stabilizes the pelvis. Instead of tucking or arching your pelvis you will be able to maintain it in a neutral pelvis during most exercises.
You Will Be Working With A Variety of Equipment
To achieve strength and
flexibility you will be working with a variety of equipment. Your
workout will consist mostly of about an hour on the Reformer. It is
important to concentrate and execute the 5 - 10 repetitions carefully
and correctly. This allows for smooth and rhythmic motion, which is
important to fully stretch the muscles. The strong focus on muscle
movements will allow you to create a well-balanced body with
elongated muscle groups that are toned and firm. This will take some time however based on your fitness history and overall body awareness.

"Pilates speaks to all of the concerns of the nineties: alignment, injury prevention, correct breathing, simultaneous stretching and strengthening, and the ever elusive harmony between mind and muscle.”
